Brief Bio

Dr. Inge has over 35 years of experience providing training and technical assistance including developing and disseminating best practice information on employment for those who have been unemployed or underemployed due to significant disabilities. Dr. Inge has worked at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) since 1982 on federally funded projects through research and training efforts including early demonstrations on employment for individuals with disabilities.

Currently, Dr. Inge is the Director for VCU's Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Employment of People with Physical Disabilities. She is also the Principal Investigator for the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Project on Customized Employment. Both of these projects are funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR). Dr. Inge is the co-author of four books including three on employment for people with significant disabilities and one on assistive technology. She has written numerous book chapters on transition from school to work as well as assistive technology and integrated employment. She is the editor and co-editor of numerous RRTC publications including research monographs and newsletters. Most recently, she has edited a series of fact sheets on customized employment and self-employment for individuals with significant disabilities.
