The Westside Center for Independent Living is a non-residential, public-benefit corporation to enable people with disabilities and seniors in the Los Angeles community to live more independent, self supporting, and satisfying lives.

Florida
CCAR Services operates programs that assist people in Northeast Florida. Volunteers are an important part of their effort. Volunteers are able to select and shape programs while gaining professional experience that help career development.

The MEED Program, a department of Miami-Dade Community College, promotes  financial independence of unemployed persons with physical disabilities in high-tech training in current software and career development skills.

Indiana
Arc Rehabilitation Services assists people with disabilities and others in need in Central Indiana.  Services include work services, community employment services, and personal and social services.

Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana, Inc. assists individuals with barriers to employment to achieve fuller participation in society by expanding their opportunities and enhancing their employability. Goodwill helps people find jobs.

SIRS - Southern Indiana Resource Solutions, Inc.is a partner in their communities to enrich the quality of life of persons with disabilities.  They advocate, plan, support, and model full inclusion and self-determination.

Maryland
High School/High Tech Eight year old model program in Maryland which assist high school youth with disabilities to enter careers in science, engineering and high technology.  Site provides  newsletter, message boards, and related links

Minnesota
Kaposia provides comprehensive, customized employment, training and consultation services to individuals with barriers to successful employment, employers and other customers. Connecting job seekers with jobs, employers with workers and providing ongoing support to both is the primary business focus.

Goodwill/Easter Seals (Minnesota Site) - Offers a wide range of innovative programs in partnership with businesses, government and organizations that help build an individual's employment skills.

Nebraska
The Nebraska Network for Children & Families  provides support and information for persons with special needs and their families.  A discussion group is available.

New Mexico
Project Succeed Enhancing Employment Opportunities for Individuals in New Mexico receiving SSI/SSDI. A cooperative agreement awarded to the New Mexico State Department of Education-Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

New York
The New York State Rehabilitation Association  A trade organization representing 130 community rehabilitation agencies across NY state in providing advocacy, direct care and employment services and supports to people with disabilities.

Utica New York Web Sites   A directory of Utica sites including links to jobs and training, government, and organizations.

Ohio
Employers Resource Council (ERC) northeast Ohio's largest employers' association, dedicated to providing human resources services, benefits, training and hotline assistance.

Sunshine Inc. of Northwest Ohio provides residential and support services for persons with mental retardation and developmental disabilities

South Dakota
ECCO Inc. located in South Dakota, provides evaluation, special education, vocational training, and residential services to adults with developmental disabilities such as mental retardation, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and autism.

Virginia
CareerConnect   Virginia's one-stop electronic workforce development system. CareerConnect was developed by the Governor's Employment and Training Department, the Virginia Employment Commission, and Virginia's Job Training Partnership Act Service Delivery Areas with a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor. It is a customer service web site designed to provide educational, employment, and career-related information to workers, students, individuals seeking employment and employers.

Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation & Substance Abuse Services Currently, there are 15 DMHMRSAS operated facilities that provide in-patient treatment for persons suffering mental illness, mental retardation and alcohol or other drug abuse problems. Clients access state operated facilities through CSBs.

VA SILC -  The SILC represents people with significant disabilities across the state and the interests of Centers for Independent Living.  Their website is to help facilitate the  SILC and CIL's disseminate Information to Virginians with disabilities.

Washington, D.C.
Melwood A dynamic, growing, and caring not-for-profit social service agency since 1963. A leader in supporting and empowering individuals with developmental and related disabilities in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Wisconsin
Employment Resources, Inc. (ERI) is a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing employment opportunities for Wisconsin citizens with disabilities. This is accomplished through research and demonstration, program development, and training, consultation and technical assistance provided to service agencies and employers.

Highly Effective Approaches  NIDRR project which identifies two-year colleges that use highly effective approaches to serve rehabilitation services clients with significant disabilities: six examples are given.

Model Spinal Cord Injury Center, The Medical College of Wisconsin has provided state of the art care since 1986. In 1995 it received five year funding from the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), deeming it one of eighteen Model Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Systems in the United States.
